The Indian Society for Training & Development (ISTD), established in April 1970, is a national level professional & non-profit society registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. It has a large membership of individuals and institutions involved in the area of training and development of Human Resource from Government, Public and Private Sector Organizations & Enterprises; Educational and Training Institutions and other Professional Bodies. The Society is affiliated to the International Federation of Training and Development Organizations (IFTDO), Geneva.

ISTD Organizes Training Programs, all over the country both at Chapter and National Levels.

The ISTD Nagpur Chapter fittingly celebrated its 55th Foundation Day on Thursday, April 10, 2025. The participants included Chairman Adv Surendra Gedam, Vice-Chairman Shri Kamal Chopra, Secretary Dr. Vaishali Rahate, esteemed ISTD Members Dr. Satish Shrivastava and Shri Raghuraman,NADP and several other members. The National Academy of Defence Production, Ambazari, Nagpur (the recently inducted institutional member of ISTD), hosted the program.

The Program commenced with opening remarks and welcome addresses by the Chairman and Secretary. This was followed by the cake-cutting ceremony, wherein all the members participated. Subsequently, Shri Shrivastava, a highly acclaimed financial expert, delivered a talk on ‘Balance sheet for the non-finance person’. Using examples of everyday personal financial transactions, he lucidly explained the various complex terms used in the balance sheets of companies. Shri Raghuraman, ex naval officer with deep experience in telecommunications, IT and training, shared his knowledge and experience in developing the various programs for iGOT Karmayogi platform. He explained the relevance of the platform in developing the competences of government and public sector employees through training modules, and implored everyone to contribute to this platform.

The participants benefitted immensely from the knowledge and expertise of the two accomplished speakers. The program ended with sumptuous refreshments.
